Pricing

Price of Trip: $550 per person. Includes all advertised activities, transportation to and from activities, breakfasts, one lunch, two dinners, and a reception with hors d’oeuvres. Does not include optional activities, travel arrangements, ground transportation to and from airport, or hotel accommodations.

Accommodations

We have a room block at the Bardstown Motor Lodge, a mid-century-inspired boutique hotel.
Part of the Common Bond Hotel Collection, it evokes nostalgic memories of summer camps and road trips with friends and family.

Hotel reservation must be made by March 15, 2024, to guarantee room block pricing.

Guest room: $179 plus taxes and room fees. Standard room: kings and double queens available. Please book your room HERE.

Transportation

Bardstown is located about 40 minutes south of Louisville. Fly into the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (38 miles from Bardstown) or the Lexington Blue Grass Airport (55 miles from Bardstown). Uber and Lyfts are available. If you choose to rent a car, the hotel has free parking.  

Cancellation Policy

You may request to cancel for any reason prior to Friday, March 15, to receive a full refund for per-person trip costs. Cancellation requests must be made in writing. To request a cancellation, email specialevents@purdueforlife.org. Please call 765-494-0900 with questions.

Cancellations made past Friday, March 15, are not refundable.

Guests will make their own travel arrangements to Cherry Capital Airport (TVC).

Ground Transportation

The hotel is a 10-minute drive from the airport. Downtown Traverse City is within walking distance of the Delamar, so a rental car is not necessary (consider Uber or Lyft). If you decide to rent a car, parking is available at the hotel.

Two-Room Suite

$549 per night, plus 11% sales tax, and a $2 per room, per night, city occupancy tax

King Guest Room

$499 per night plus 11% sales tax and $12 daily destination fee. Please book your room here.

Patsy J. Mellott

Patsy earned a bachelor’s degree in food and nutrition in business from Purdue in 1969, in addition to an MBA in food marketing from Michigan State University in 1970. She retired from Kraft Foods in 2006 after 36 years in corporate food marketing and marketing communications management.

A community volunteer, Patsy serves on the Women’s Fund of Central Indiana Advisory Board and the Purdue College of Health and Human Sciences Dean’s Leadership Council, in addition to the President’s Council Advisory Board. She is a former member of the Health and Human Sciences Alumni Board. Patsy held several offices from 2006 through 2013, including president and treasurer. She serves her community’s Discover Indianapolis Club in Fishers, holding several leadership roles for over 10 years.

Patsy has received several honors, including the Purdue University Nutrition Science Department Hall of Fame recipient in 2009 and the Purdue University College of Health and Human Sciences Distinguished Alumni Award in 2016. She also received the college’s Gold and Black Award in 2016, an honor reserved for donors who have moved the college forward by committing exceptional financial resources.

In addition to endowing two scholarships, the Patsy J. Mellott Scholarship and Patsy J. Mellott HHS Scholarship, she established the Patsy J. Mellott Teaching Innovation Award in the College of Health and Human Sciences in 2013. In 2015, she endowed the Patsy J. Mellott Women’s Tennis Coach Performance Award. She is a lead donor in the Christine M. Ladisch Faculty Leadership Award and the Purdue Women’s Network Virginia C. Meredith Scholarship for the College of Health and Human Sciences.
