Mentoring Program

The PASE Mentoring Program links PASE students to alumni for guidance and inspiration. As they pursue their next giant leap, students will grow in a mutually beneficial mentoring experience that nurtures the spirit of Purdue’s six pillars—integrity, respect, honor, inclusion, innovation, and growth.

What to expect

Orientation: Students and alumni are required to attend or watch orientation before being matched.
Matching: We utilize the algorithm on Purdue Ties, the university’s networking and mentoring platform, which takes in several pieces of information to match students with alumni. The more complete your profile is, the better the match!
Mentoring milestones: Throughout the academic year, mentors and mentees will meet to complete milestones.

How to join

Our annual program begins in the fall and lasts the entire year academic year. For more information about the program, email pase@purdueforlife.org or check out our frequently asked questions.

Applications are accepted during the spring semester, but matches are not guaranteed due to the shortened time frame.

Please note: In addition to completing the application, participants must also opt in to the mentoring program through Purdue Ties. From the homepage, click on your photo, then click on “Edit Profile.” Scroll down to “Offer Mentoring” (for alumni) or “Seek Mentoring” (for students), then check “Participate in the PASE formal mentoring program.”

Take the myStrengths assessment

Purdue has partnered with Gallup to become a strengths-based campus, helping students understand their unique abilities. The CliftonStrengths for Students online talent assessment helps students develop their strengths rather than their weaknesses. All students have free access to the assessment as well as Strengths resources through the myStrengths online portal.
