Get ready to explore different areas of Purdue’s beautiful West Lafayette campus during your Thursday morning field trip! An adult must accompany each child at all times during Grandparents University. For that reason, please select a field trip based on the ages and physical abilities of everyone in your group.

Medium: Some movement and walking required, which may include stairs. Long periods of standing may be required, and outdoor activity is possible.

Get a taste of the Boilermaker life as you tour a residence hall and a dining court, where you’ll enjoy
a cookie-decorating experience.

Bands & Orchestras

Activity Level: Low (will require a 0.6-mile walk)

This tour will introduce you to the Marc and Sharon Hagle Hall, the home of Purdue Bands & Orchestras,
and give you an up-close look at the World’s Largest Drum.

Boilermaker Butcher Block

Activity Level: Medium

Go behind the scenes to see the farm-to-fork experience available to Boilermakers on
campus, and enjoy a hands-on learning activity with meat products.

Campus Bus Tour

Activity Level: Low

Ride through the heart of campus to explore historic landmarks and new developments,
enjoy photo opportunities at iconic sites, and learn about Boilermakers who left their mark on Purdue.

Flower Arranging

Activity Level: Low (will require a 0.4-mile walk)

Dig into your love of gardening, and let your connection with nature flourish by learning
about the “branches” of horticulture and creating your very own flower arrangement
to take home.

Purdue Fire Department

Meet Purdue’s firefighting heroes at the campus firehouse! Learn how they operate critical safety systems, collaborate with emergency medical services (EMS), and protect campus buildings and the Purdue Airport.
